Carbon block filtration is an effective process used to improve water quality. The carbon block acts as a prefilter and effectively removes coarse particles up to 5 micrometres (µm) in size, including particles such as sand, rust, sediment and other contaminants that may be present in water. This filtration ensures that the water passing through the next stages of treatment, such as reverse osmosis, does not contain large particles that could damage the more advanced filters or the reverse osmosis membrane.
In addition, the carbon block also reduces the presence of harmful substances such as chlorine, pesticides, and other organic contaminants that can adversely affect the taste and quality of water. Carbon filtration protects the reverse osmosis membrane to preserve its life cycle and to increase the efficiency of the entire filtration system.
