The BRITA carbon block filter has a capacity of 10,000 litres and effectively removes chlorine, heavy metals and small particles from water. It is used to make cold drinks and coffee in areas with very soft water, and for drinking water in the kitchen. The filter preserves the minerals in the water that are necessary for the human body. Filtration is a two-step process: prefiltration for coarse particles, and active carbon filtration to improve taste and aroma and to remove very fine particles. This filter does not remove limescale.
